MD2: Game Map

This is the map I created for Murder Detective 2: Corruption (published by Tournay Software).  The game takes place both in the USA and the UK – this is the USA area.

I actually found it quite hard creating a map that didn’t look like a SatNav screen.  I went for a sort of grungy look, not unlike the maps seen in the Need for Speed games.  The image is a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop work.  The basic road layout was created using vectors in Illustrator.  I then passed that to Photoshop for further enhancements.

I hadn’t been using Illustrator that long when I created this, so it was easier to finalise in Photoshop.  Now, I would probably do the entire thing in Illustrator.
